About Cadi Catlow
I was given my first Super 8 camera aged 8 and managed to buy a 3 minute cartridge of film for it each month by pawning the cat. Having blown the first few rolls filming mud and goats, I realised film went through slower in single frames and taught myself to animate.
To the immense relief of the cat, I won my first commission aged 14 and by 19 I was directing commercials for Saatchi & Saatchi and AMV BBDO. Jumping ship to work on Hollywood features Harry Potter and Children of Men, I then went on a 15 year creative spree across Europe, animating and directing commercials, music videos and TV series and collecting an armful of strangely shaped awards along the way.
I have been on festival juries, organised film festivals and set up 4 animation studios. In 2013 I won the £25k Bombay Sapphire Imagination award for writing, with a short script I hammered out in an hour. Mushroom Rain is my brand new creative adventure with DOP Chris Maris.
I no longer have a cat, and I spend most of my time talking camels, Punch & Judy and electromagnetic bacteria with Chris. Sometimes I write stuff down.
